Eligibility Criteria

You may be eligible if you:

  • Have a disability or functional limitation that creates a barrier to employment.
  • Are a resident of British Columbia.
  • Are legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Are currently employed, self-employed, or seeking employment.

Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis, considering the nature of the disability and its impact on employment.

Application Process

  1. Contact ATS: Reach out to WorkBC Assistive Technology Services to discuss your needs and determine eligibility.
  2. Assessment: An assessment will be conducted to identify appropriate assistive technologies or services.
  3. Approval and Implementation: Once approved, the recommended assistive technologies or services will be provided to support your employment goals.

Appeal Process

  • Review Request: Submit a request to the WorkSafeBC Review Division within 90 days of the decision.
  • Tribunal Appeal: If still dissatisfied, appeal to the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Tribunal within 30 days of the review outcome.
