A federal dental insurance program that covers essential oral health care services for eligible Canadians who do not have access to private dental insurance.
Benefit Amount
Covers a wide range of dental services with co-payment rates based on income:
- 100% coverage if income is < $70,000
- 60% coverage if income is $70,000–$79,999
- 40% coverage if income is $80,000–$89,999
- No coverage if income is $90,000+
Eligibility Criteria
- Canadian resident for tax purposes
- Filed a tax return for the previous year
- Adjusted family net income under $90,000
- No access to private dental insurance
Application Process
- Apply online via My Service Canada Account (MSCA)
- Provide: SIN, date of birth, address, dental coverage info (if any), and tax return status
- Submit one application per household for all eligible members
