Description

Tenants of Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation, attending junior high, high school, post-secondary school, or an Adult Basic Education program, may receive a monthly payment for each student. This income is considered exempt and will not affect the amount of Income Support received by tenants of NLHC.

Benefit Amount

$50 per month that an eligible applicant is in full-time attendance for grades 7-12, Adult Basic Education or a Post-Secondary education.

Eligibility Criteria

Any NLHC tenant(s) attending grades seven through twelve, ABE or a post-secondary institution.

Application Process

Tenants must provide NLHC with a letter from the school for each eligible tenant(s), for the most recent school year, stating the student was in full-time attendance and the exact date of the school term for which you are requesting the incentive funding. Please note that retroactive payments for prior years are not available.
