If you have high health costs and no longer qualify for Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program financial assistance because of your income, the Extended Health Benefit may be available to help you with your health costs.

Benefit Amount

The Extended Health Benefit for Ontario Works and Extended Health Benefit for Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) help you to cover health-related costs, including:

• prescription drugs
• dental care
• vision care
• medical supplies, such as diabetic and incontinence supplies
• transportation to and from medical appointments
• assistive devices, including hearing aids

Eligibility Criteria

You may be eligible if:

• You used to be eligible for Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program, but you are no longer eligible for these income supports because your income is too high
• You and your family have high health costs
