This program helps low-income families in PEI cover the cost of approved prescription medications.

Eligibility Criteria

Be a PEI resident with a valid PEI Health Card.

Be a low-income family supporting at least one child under 19, or under 25 if a full-time student.

Have filed a PEI tax return and consent to income verification via the CRA. If you have 1 dependent, your net annual family income to qualify must be less than $24,800

If you have 2 dependents, your net annual family income to qualify must be less than $27,800

If you have 3 dependents, your net annual family income to qualify must be less than $30,800

If you have 4 dependents, your net annual family income to qualify must be less than $33,800.

If you have more than 4 dependents, add $3,000 for each additional dependent

Application Process

Complete the Family Health Benefit Application Form.

Include proof of full-time enrollment for dependents aged 19–25.

Reapply annually or if your household situation changes.
