Description

The PEI Home Renovation Program provides financial assistance to qualifying Islanders to help cover the cost of major structural renovations to their homes.

Eligible applicants may receive up to a maximum $12,000 for eligible renovations to the structure, heating, plumbing, and electrical systems or to improve life safety.

Or in the case of an applicant with a permanent disability, up to a maximum $16,000 may be available if the renovations improve the accessibility of the house.

Eligibility Criteria

• You are a PEI resident (have a PEI Health Card) and a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Your combined income is $50,000 or less.
• The property is your principle residence and you currently reside in the home.
• You are an owner of the property or have a life interest in the property.
• Your property value is $300,000 or less.
• You have not met the maximum grant through previous applications to the PEI Home Renovation Programs.

Application Process

• Fill in the application for the PEI Home Renovation Program with all relevant details.
• Sign the declaration acknowledging your understanding of the program rules, and sign the CRA consent section authorizing proof of income.
• Prioritize your requests to renovations that meet your greatest need, as funding is limited.

Any incomplete applications will not be processed.
