Benefit Amount
- $150/month during pregnancy and for each child under five.
- One-time $150 payment in the month of the child’s birth.
- Multiple births receive multiple payments.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a permanent resident of Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Must be pregnant or have a child under five.
- Must be low-income (typically eligible if receiving Income Support or the NL Child Benefit).
Application Process
- During pregnancy: Apply online or call 1-800-508-4788.
- After birth: Complete the Canada Child Benefit application. PECNS is automatically included with the NL Child Benefit.
