Description
Social Assistance helps pay for basic needs when you do not have enough money. Depending on your financial need, you may also receive payment for childcare, medicine, and other living essentials.
Benefit Amount
Monthly financial assistance based on assessed need.
May include coverage for:
- Rent and utilities
- Basic food allowance
- Child care costs
- Prescription medications
- Transportation for medical appointments
Eligibility Criteria
PEI Resident over the age of 18 years old and your income cannot cover the basic costs of living.
Application Process
The application process starts when you call the social assistance screening line and are booked for an intake appointment. You will need to bring documents about yourself, your family, and your current financial situation at this intake appointment.
