Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for Nova Scotia Student Financial Assistance, you must:

• Be a Canadian citizen, Landed Immigrant (with proof for first-time applicants), or Protected Person.
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
• Be a resident of Nova Scotia (or any province for Part-Time Studies).
• Be enrolled in a designated, full-time program leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
• Maintain good standing on any previous student loans.
• Meet academic requirements (pass 60% of a full course load, or 40% if you have a disability).
• You must also qualify for Canada Student Loans and Grants to access Nova Scotia assistance.

Note: For Part-Time studies, you must be taking between 20% and 59% of a full course load.
