Description

The Supplement for the Purchase of School Supplies is an annual financial assistance of $124 per child for the 2025-2026 school year, regardless of family income. Eligibility is determined based on the child’s age and not on whether he or she attends school.

Benefit Amount

$124 per child for the 2025-2026 school year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this benefit, you must:

• Be eligible for the Family Allowance and receive a payment for the month in which the supplement is paid.
• Your child is aged 4 to 16 on September 30 of the school year for which the supplement is paid.

Or

• You receive the Supplement for Handicapped Children for a child aged 4 to 17 on September 30 of the school year for which the supplement is paid.

To get the benefit you must have custody of the child for the month when the supplement is paid.

Application Process

You do not need to apply for this benefit if you meet the eligibility requirements. That is, if you have applied for and are eligible for the Family Allowance or the Supplement for Handicapped Children, you will automatically get the supplement.
