Description
If you recently completed Quebec’s Social Assistance Program, Alternative jeunesse program, or the Aim for employment Program, you may qualify for the Supplement to the Work Premium. This monthly benefit supports the transition to employment.
Benefit Amount
This supplement can reach a maximum of:
- of $2,400 for a single person;
- of $4,800 for a couple where each spouse has entered the labour market.
For either of these situations, these amounts are equal to a payment of $200 per month for up to 12 consecutive months.
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify for this benefit if:
- You are no longer receiving social assistance
- You are no longer eligible for the Alternative jeunesse program
- You are no longer eligible for the Aim for Employment Program because you have income from work;
- You have received social assistance or allowances from the Youth Alternative or Aim for Employment programs for at least 24 months out of the 30 months before the date the assistance stopped;
- Your work income for the month for which you are requesting the supplement is $200 or more and you are not receiving last-resort financial assistance or financial assistance under the Aim for Employment Program for that month
Application Process
You can apply for this benefit in two ways:
- By submitting the Work Premium Supplement Request for Advance Payment form once a month
- By completing Schedule P Tax Credits Respecting the Work Premium when filing your yearly tax return with Revenu Quebec
