Description

Refundable tax credit for low-income workers with disabilities.

Benefit Amount

Up to $821/year.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be eligible for the DTC and have working income below set thresholds.

Application Process

  1. Ensure DTC eligibility: You must be approved for the Disability Tax Credit.
  2. File your tax return: Use Schedule 6 to claim the CWB and indicate eligibility for the disability supplement.
  3. Include Form T2201 (if not already on file with CRA).
  4. CRA processes your return and issues the benefit as part of your tax refund.

How to Submit

Two Options to Submit:

1. Online:
Sign in to your CRA My Account.
2. By Mail:
Mail the completed and signed form to your tax centre. Addresses are listed on the CRA website.

Possible Outcomes & Appeal Process

Appeals Process

  1. File a Notice of Objection with the CRA within 90 days of the notice of assessment.
  2. Use CRA’s My Account or submit a written objection explaining why you disagree.
  3. If unresolved, you may appeal to the Tax Court of Canada.
  4. You can request an extension if you miss the 90-day deadline, but it must be within a year.
